Ages 7 to 14
This camp focuses on specific acting methods and techniques that can be used on stage, in commercials, on tv episodes and in the movies. Campers learn the importance of being natural, the use of improvisation, tricks to memorize lines, interpreting their character’s psyche, and fulfilling the writer’s intent while also making it their own.
Campers also learn the importance of working organically with other actors and actresses, using teamwork and playing off each other to bring the performance to life!
Campers inherently learn confidence, how to work well with others, and appreciation for acting in general. After completing this camp, campers will be less likely to fear public speaking, and will be more in touch and confident with themselves. This camp is a great opportunity for selfexploration, challenge, and teamwork.
Because acting is not a required course at school, this camp may open up a new interest for a camper, or cultivate an existing one. For campers with acting experience, this camp is a great opportunity to learn a lot more about acting and hone techniques. This camp is lots of fun, and while campers are asked to stretch their limits, they are never forced to take on a role that is too much pressure.
Campers will learn about acting, themselves, and working with others in a healthy and supportive environment, under the guidance of great instruction. Lavner Acting Camp provides a unique, fun, and transformative summer experience. Upon registration, please include a short note about your child’s level of experience on the form. Also, don’t forget about our four weeks of Theater Camp. This is a great opportunity to test your new skills learned in Acting Camp.
