Culinary Arts Camps

Ages 6 to 16

Campers at the Culinary Camp learn about the importance of kitchen and food safety, ingredients, home-made recipes, healthy eating and teamwork, all while having a blast! Our mission is to provide a completely hands-on learning experience in a safe and child-friendly environment.

Lavner chefs are excellent cooks and bakers, and are experienced in a diverse background of culinary dishes. Throughout the day, campers will enjoy both group and individual lessons with the chefs, combining cooking and baking techniques while learning how to navigate through the kitchen. The variety of dishes and desserts learned throughout the week will be international and domestic. The Lavner Culinary Camp is a fantastic way to meet friends with similar interests all while learning life-long skills and having fun.

The best part of each day, of course, is eating the tasty food and desserts, and bringing them home for the whole family to enjoy as well.

The Culinary Camp combines an exciting and educational experience in a safe and fun environment. Lavner chefs are patient and encourage children of all abilities to actively partake in all of the cooking and baking lessons, while providing them the necessary kitchen skills and etiquette to achieve great results. All cuisine and desserts are made from scratch so each camper experiences the entire culinary process.

Campers will also learn about proper nutrition and diet, in addition to food and table preparation. Many students even improve their math skills without ever realizing it, while learning how to bake! Lavner creates an environment where campers are willing to express themselves through their dishes in a team-oriented and creative fashion.

A bake off competition takes place every Friday with guest judges, parents, and tons of excitement!

This camp is great for a one week or multiple week stay. In fact, a lot of our campers attend for two or more weeks, as recipes are not repeated for multiple week campers. Our camp office receives tons of thank you emails as their child “loves to help in the kitchen!” So, we see it as a win-win for everybody!

Break For Snack: At 10:15am campers receive a 15 minute break outside to eat a snack and may participate in a short exercise of the day (e.g. organized relay races).

Lunch/Optional Physical Activities:  From 11:30 am to 1:00pm campers eat their lunch and participate in fun organized activities where they can exercise.  While physical exercises are not mandatory, participation is encouraged.  Some examples are capture the flag, relay races, 501, 7 up, and team building games.  Campers are able to let out some energy and are ready for the afternoon session!
